Calgary In-Person 7 Week Group Prenatal Education Series

Our centrally located classes at 940a 11 Ave SW in Calgary, offer ample free parking. Experience information-packed sessions paired with engaging group activities. We encourage both the birthing person and support person to attend, and both spots are covered in your fee. Classes, from 7:00 pm - 9:15 pm.

Beyond in-person instruction, receive a Welcome Baby Co. workbook with over 140 pages of valuable information and worksheets. Explore additional resources and videos through weekly emails, and connect with your instructor via text, email, or phone call for extra support before or after your baby arrives.

In our classes, explore birth options and preferences, understanding that plans might change. Be confident, prepared, and an empowered decision-maker at your birth, covering topics from labour stages to coping strategies, interventions, postpartum healing, mental health, newborn care, breastfeeding, and more.

Group Class Series Outline.

Class 1: Introduction to birth: anatomy, hormones & concepts to set the stage for learning.

Class 2: Overview of stages of labour, early labour, inductions and possible interventions.

Class 3: Active labour, comfort measures and pain medications. Including hands-on practice.

Class 4: Transition, pushing, birth and placenta delivery, immediate postpartum and cesareans.

Class 5: Postpartum recovery, newborn procedures, healing after birth and newborn care including bathing, swaddling, diapering and more.

Class 6: Breastfeeding & bottle feeding.

Class 7: Parenting your baby including the fourth trimester, developmental milestones, infant sleep, introducing solids, relationships after baby, and postpartum mood disorders.
